Derbyshire County Council Wins Local Council Award

Celebrations as Derbyshire County Council wins Best Council Service Team of the Year.

On the 2nd of October the MJ Awards announced that Derbyshire County Council has won the award for Best Council Service Team of the Year.

Paul O’Brien, the chief executive of APSE, announced the award praising the Council service team for offering a service,

“Fundamental to not only quality of life but fundamental to the health and wellbeing.”

Making a special mention to the current pandemic O’Brien said,

“When the going got tough, the public knew who they could rely on- local councils.”

Obviously pleased with the result Derbyshire County Council Leader Councillor Barry Lewis said,

“I am delighted that the efforts of all the staff from across a number of departments has been recognised in this way.

This is only possible when we all work closely and well together, in partnership with others,

and this award reflects the resilience of all involved and is a wonderful example of the great Derbyshire spirit.”
