Spire Radio’s Amy and Big Al had the privilege of going along to the launch of FOOTBALL 4 AUTISM at Chesterfield Football Club.

The challenge 30 appeal was launched earlier this year as a mission to raise at least £1000 for the Autism Plus charity for each of its 30 years in existence

They met with Ray , Andy and Mark from Autism Plus. Ray organised this event as a means to raise much needed funds for this wonderful charity.

Chesterfield Football club has joined forces with Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham united. The 21 mile walk is to take place between the 4 grounds on the 4th April this year.

Al and Amy caught up with Gillian and Jane from Access Derbyshire who are thrilled that this walk is taking place to highlight Autism Awareness…

You can also listen to Amy talking to Sean Goldsmith to discuss why he is involved and how his diagnosis with Aspergers has changed his life, and how the support of local groups such as Accessible Derbyshire and Autism Plus are helping many people local deal with the effects of an Autism Diagnosis.

We have interviews to follow on our page, as well as Jane from Accessible Derbyshire coming in on The Weekend Wake up a week on Saturday – not to be missed !
